Every training solution I build follows the industry-standard ADDIE framework. Here is a look at how I take projects from an initial concept to high-impact learning solutions.
Before designing a single slide or writing a line of content, I dig into the "why."
Needs Assessment: Collaborating with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify current vs. desired performance levels.
Audience Profiling: Analyzing learner demographics, baseline knowledge, technical constraints, and learning environments.
Task & Content Analysis: Breaking down complex operational workflows into teachable, sequential components.
Typical Key Deliverable: Training Needs Analysis (TNA) / Project Scope Document.
With a clear understanding of the goals, I transition into the design phase. Here, I blueprint the learning experience to ensure it is logically structured and instructionally sound.
Learning Objectives: Drafting measurable, performance-based objectives (typically using Bloom’s Taxonomy) that dictate exactly what learners will be able to do.
Assessment Strategy: Designing formative and summative assessments that accurately measure the stated objectives.
Sequencing & Storyboarding: Creating detailed, screen-by-screen storyboards, scripts, and wireframes for multimedia or interactive e-learning modules.
Media Selection: Determining the best delivery methods (e.g., microlearning, instructor-led training, asynchronous e-learning, or performance support tools).
Typical Key Deliverable: Design Documents, Storyboards, and Assessment Blueprints.
This is the production phase where concepts turn into assets. I utilize modern authoring tools and multimedia software to build out the approved design.
Content Creation: Writing clear and concise instructional materials tailored to the target audience.
Asset Production: Developing custom graphics, user interface elements, video, audio, or 3D/technical components as required.
Authoring & Assembly: Building the interactive modules, ensuring responsive design, intuitive navigation, and accessible formatting.
Typical Key Deliverable: Completed E-Learning Modules, Student Guides, and Jobs Aids.
A great training course is only effective if it reaches the learner seamlessly. The implementation phase focuses on delivery logistics.
LMS Deployment: Uploading, configuring, and testing packages within the Learning Management System.
Learner Rollout: Launching the training to the target audience with clear communication regarding expectations and technical support.
Typical Key Deliverable: Deployed LMS Courses, and Facilitator Readiness.
Evaluation is woven into the entire process to ensure the final product is polished, instructionally sound, and well-received.
Formative Evaluation: Continuous check-ins and review cycles during design and development to pivot quickly based on stakeholder feedback.
Learner Reaction (Kirkpatrick Level 1): Providing a comprehensive, ready-to-deploy data collection instrument (student feedback form) customized for the course. This captures both quantitative metrics (engagement, technical ease, perceived value) and qualitative insights (open-ended learner feedback) to gauge the immediate impact of the rollout.
Typical Key Deliverable: A polished, QA-tested learning asset and a customized Learner Feedback Survey.
